That's right, nothing to see here, move on, Alain Vigneault is in full control of the situation and everything is progressing perfectly according to plan. The team as a whole has been so horrible Vigneault and Sather were forced to do something after five games already. They are trying to shake up the team before it all spirals out of control. Throwing Biron and Asham under the bus is easy in the sense that neither is a meaningful player in the big picture, but at the same time it sends a loud message to the players on the team because those two are veterans. It isn't uncommon for a coach to try to tighten his grip on a team by coming down hard on expendable veterans. We'll see if it has an instant effect.

The long-term contract they had on the table and that he rejected because he and his agent evidently thought he would get more on the open market.
