Best case scenario #2 : Somebody mentioned something similar, but everybody loses patience with the vets, and the start getting sold off, and a deal for a young and explosive talent (like the Seguin trade) happens to ultimately make this team better. The team finishes with a top 10 pick, and picks a very skilled winger to compliment said player. Then pick up some good spare parts over the summer, and reevaluate where the team is at next training camp.
best case scenario #1 make a small trade for a Steve Downie type player.. a player with emotion and then the same effect will happen when the Rangers traded for Avery... LMAO Rangers make the playoffs and play Islanders in the first round...
best case scenerio #2 stay competetive right until the trade deadline, trade Girardi, Boyle and other UFA for some 1st round picks..im sure both Girardi and Boyle can get the Rangers a 1st even if its 20-25 range.. maybe the Rangers can have a year with more than 1 1st round pick, and use that to acquire some young talent by trading it for a young player or using the picks to draft a player and rebuild the proper way with young talent
