Best case scenario:

They realize that they are in a perfect storm of misfortune and underperformance at the moment and decide to not make any rash moves, instead waiting for the team to get healthy and on the same page.

As the big underachievers (Lundqvist, Stepan, McDonagh, Girardi, Del Zotto, Zuccarello, Pouliot) begin to play to their potential and our key guys return from injury we go on a roll from November on and challenge Pittsburgh for the division.

We are able to keep this momentum into the playoffs and win the Cup.

I still believe that this team has the potential to go all the way. 100%. The issue is that a lot of our core players are underachieving big time right now. It doesn't matter that Strålman, Richards, Callahan, and Boyle (I'm on the fence whether to include Brassard and Staal in this group) have had fantastic starts because the rest of the team have been playing like ****.
