The reality of being a sports fan is that the team is going to disappoint far more than it meets expectations. Most fans want their team to win a championship every year ... only one meets that goal and usually it isn't the one projected to do so during the preseason. Our fan base has members who have a hard time with that reality.
But this fan you might be referring to comes here far too often to not care about our team. Some people communicate differently. Some wear their emotions on their sleeves and say things in haste. Others are more reserved and choose their words more carefully. At the end of the day, we are all Preds fans who deep in our hearts root for our team to do the best it can.
