Really? Gus has been really solid in his own zone, has been breaking the puck out and getting shots through on goal from the blueline. While Mez was arguably the worst D man in over half the games he played.

Gus is really starting to look like last year was no fluke, and he could step up and be either a #4 or a puck moving 5 who is defensively sound and can play on the second PP unit.
