Pretty great move by Homer. Colorado got fleeced.

Give up a 4th line player with one fluke year (albeit he is a great 4th liner and PKer) and get a guy who has 48, 46 and 52 point seasons (factored) before his knee injury last year.

If we had done this at the start of the year I would have been worried with him coming off ACL surgery... but I have seen two Avalanche games so far this year and he looked great... and his points so far are right in his usual kind of range.

He is also only 26, has a very reasonable cap hit for what he brings.

He is also pretty decent defensively, and works damn hard.

He is also instantly out joint top scorer! ;p

I liked Downie when he was here, happy he is back, he has matured a lot as well since then.

Our forward group is silly now... if it cannot score I despair.

Giroux, Lecav, Jake, Hartnell, Read, Simmonds, Schenn, Couts and Downie in the top nine.

Raffl, Hall and Rinaldo on the bottom line.

I imagine something more may happen though tbh.
