It's too bad we didn't land Tavares + Stamkos or something.
Stamkos had scored 23g, 23a with a -13 in his first 79 games (0.58 ppg). He did not have a spectacular season in his first season despite having such stars as St. Louis, lecavalier and Richards to shelter him.

Tavares had scored 24g, 30 a with a -14 in his first season (82 games).

Nail Yakupov by comparison has scored 18g, 16a with a -17 in his first 62 games (0.55 ppg).

He is nearly EXACTLY on the same development path as Stamkos.

I fail to see how people can determine that Yakupov is not going to be an impact player so early in his career. Every junior player entering the NHL goes through growing pains. I have not seen anything that has changed my mind regarding Yakupov's development nor future impact.
