Definitely agree that he needs to be out that far, haven't watched him play but I'll take your word for it.
How is his lateral movement? Sometimes goalies like to compensate for some slow pushes by playing deep so they can get from A to B quicker as its shorter distance compared to a guy like Quick.
Lateral movement = Bernier. Cerebral. Accurate. Great positioning. Stays tall. Love it. I understand him being big and not needing to cut the angle as much but that's just all the more reason TO do it. With his size, if he cuts down the angle, no one will be able to see anything behind him. It's not even necessarily being aggressive but moreso not playing as deep as he does.
