But we might not have a player of Markov's calibre in the lineup. Markov is still a very very very good defenseman. He's extremely hard to replace. We still don't have anyone close in the system to being able replace both his offensive and defensive game (I'm not counting Subban). Losing Markov leaves big shoes to fill, especially since right now he's looked to found his old game back more or less.

I would sign Markov at 2 or 3 years. He's that good.
