Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks was involved in a serious car accident in San Jose Tuesday. He was not hurt, according to the team.

The driver of the other car was injured. A witness told NBC Bay Area the second driver had his legs trapped for a time and appeared to be in a lot of pain.

He was taken away in an ambulance.

Marleau was driving on W. Taylor Street just a few blocks from SAP Center when his SUV collided with another vehicle, according to the witness.

This happened just after noon at the corner or Stockton and W. Taylor in front of a Salvation Army store.

Both cars suffered front-end damage.

The Sharks tweeted that Marleau was not injured.
