Put simply, pricepoint sticks are those which are priced between $40-60 entry-level sticks and $250+ high-end sticks. Manufacturers drop high-end features to provide reduced prices for consumers. Pricepoints can be a decent way to get something that's better than the low-end "toy" sticks without paying top dollar.

Opinions will vary on their overall value, but in my experience (as a very average rec-leaguer), you can find pretty decent sticks in the $100-150 range.
