That is super exciting Danny - congratulations to your son. Here are my two cents...

I would never leave school for sports, but you can do both while still giving him every opportunity to achieve his goals and live his dreams. If he is good enough to play in the NHL, then he will end up in the NHL.

More and more players are making their way into pro hockey from the NCAA as well, so that is always an option.

I have trained very good players (early rounds of the NHL draft) who do not go on to make a career in the NHL, without any education to back them up, they can feel a little lost when the career is over.

Having some education helps the athlete stay grounded and well-rounded for when their career is over.

Just my thoughts and opinions. I am sure others have different perspectives.
