I thought for sure Minnesota would sign Carter Sandlak as he looked pretty good in camp. But they didn't, but he did sign a contract today!

Ron Francis, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with left wing Carter Sandlak on a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal will pay Sandlak $550,000 at the NHL level or $55,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level in the first year, $550,000 in the NHL or $67,500 in the AHL in the second year, and $575,000 in the NHL or $67,500 in the AHL in the third year. He will also receive a signing bonus of $110,000.
“Carter is a gritty, tough competitor who is having a good year for Plymouth in the Ontario Hockey League,” said Francis. “He’s got an edge to his game and the work ethic to be a good pro.”

Dan O'Toole: "So if I have this right, only acceptable goal celebration in NHL is to put hands at your sides and then feel shame."
