Off-ice skills improvement

I already posted in the Fitness thread about possible improvements I can make fitnessly for my game, but I am wondering if their is anything I can do off the ice to improve my game other than the fitness part of it.

Would skating on the roller rink when I don't have practice on ice improve my skating(I only have practice once a week)?

Any tips on how to improve puck handling skills off the ice?

I know it's a vague question, but with so little ice time, it's tough or someone who wants to get better to actually get better.
