MAB and Gustafsson are nothing like each other. MAB made a brief NHL living out of solely having a monster of a shot like no other and being a great PP threat (minus the times he was the cause of SH chances against).

Gustafsson's shot is nowhere near that level, but he's better then MAB in just about every other aspect. He's a fluid, relatively smooth skater who at least knows how to play D and can move the puck well enough to not look out of place on a rush.

Makes no sense that we're benching a guy like that, who is a home-grown prospect no less, for a guy with one of the biggest cap hits on the team yet is a free agent who likely won't be re-signed (and if he is then God help us) and is a bottom pairing D at his best. Gustafsson isn't much better overall when both are at their best, but Gustafsson is probably more reliable while also being much cheaper and having the possibility of a future here if they don't keep crapping all over him.
