Lindros is one of these borderline guys, like Bure, Selanne, Kariya, etc. that would have a remote shot of making it right now, but more likely need several more years of at least decent production to make it (of the ones mentioned, Selanne might be an exception if only because he holds some of the NHL's most untouchable records). All those mentioned dominated for a good stretch of the 90s, but didn't put up the team success to go along with that domination so that they could get in without hitting some high personal career totals that they might not quite be at yet. If Lindros wins a Stanley Cup in the next 5 years (and does so being more than just a passenger), or hits 500/500/1000, his chances should be pretty good. A guy like Peter Forsberg, despite having somewhat lower career numbers, is probably closer than Lindros or the other guys I named, because of his playoff successes.
