MS is becoming controllable more often than in the past, as we've learned a lot about slowing the neurological degeneration. Down the road, Harding might have issues with his arms or legs, but people sometimes go years before permanent disability kicks in. My Dad has had MS since he was 20. He worked a full career while walking with a cane, retired in his 60s and is now in a wheelchair, but comfortable and otherwise healthy at 87. MS isn't a death-sentence.
