I think it's fair to say the Rangers are a better team, on paper, with Jagr. However, this influx of superstars has not helped their cause, as many have pointed out already, in the past.

If Sather can bolster his defence, by trading a marquee player .. or two .. and solidify the goaltending.. they could make a serious run up the standings.

Say what you will about Jagr, but he is still one of the best in the world. Certainly the problems in Washington go deeper than what we the fans know. If they had a solid blueline this year, I'm not sure Jagr wouldn't still be a Cap.

They got him at 5 million per year, for 4 years... which is a fine deal.

The question is, what will Slats do next?
