It was a two game taste of the big leagues, in many ways as a reward and recognition of his good work in Hamilton. Can you guage anything based on his first two NHL games...probably not. Just to put this into perspective, I don't think anyone will argue that Koivu may have had his worst two games of the season this weekend. So, if you extrapolate his season based on those two games, does that make him a poor NHL player...I think not!! Perspective #2, this is his first real full season in the pros. Last year was hardly anything to write home about with the early injury, limited ice time, and healthy scratches. The important thing about his game is that he is still getting better as he progresses. You always want to see that in a prospect.
