Agreed, Kopitar for Price is a ridiculous notion from a Kings' perspective. Kopitar is NHL-proven while Price has played 0 NHL games. Yes the Kings desperately need goaltending but not at the expense of the player they're probably going to be building their franchise around.

The first trade isn't good either, although you can take Sopel out of it (or replace it with a low pick) and it becomes slightly more reasonable. Samsonov/Conroy are both proven but struggling forwards and Niinimaa/Tverdovsky are both aging defensemen in severe decline, but why would the teams want to swap garbage? Doesn't make sense to me. And I don't see L.A. making any kind of a deal with us that wouldn't involve Aebischer going their way.
