They made a good bet in '93, then...

because they did win. What they didn't realize is that with an aging base, that formula could not continuously be replicated. Can't keep trading youth for aging vets. I still will never understand the Norstrom trade...Ferrarro was more productive than Kurri..Lapperiere was as tough as Churla, although not a heavyweight (and neither was Churla). McSorley was hurt. And then there was Norstrom, a defenseman who was just coming into his own, not even replaced in the lineup. It was baffling.

Sorry, but I had to vent, once again.
