Both ideas have major flaws.
1. Yes the Blues have some major injuries, and will likely have a difficult time in winning a first round match-up with either Vancouver or Colorado. That doesn't mean it's time to cash in your chip and move on.
2. I don't believe the Lightning will be major buyers. Also while Tampa
could get hot and make it to the Finals from the East, they certainly don't
"have as good a chance as anyone in the East of reaching the finals".
As of right now, at best they are the 5th best team in the conference. Unfortunately the ridiculous rule that will give them the 3rd seed will again help the Lightning, as it did last year.
