Very often the last letter of a word is not pronounced in French. Therefore Lemieux is pronounced Lemyou and not Lemyooks. It's just odd they do it with some names and not others. You can pronounce your own name anyway you want but the correct French pronunciation of Pouliot is Pu-lee-o. And it's even odder that he has a French first name that has a French pronunciation.
