Let's not forget about Toronto in this whole equation. It has been stated by Quinn in yesterday's Toronto Star that the past month has proven that the Leafs have enough depth to get by when injuries occur, so he believe's that Toronto may seek an impact player or 2 instead of depth players at the trade deadline. That being said Quinn is no longer the GM but you have to believe that he is still involved in the day to day activities surrounding the Leafs roster until Fergusson can prove that he can handle the job himself.

Gonchar is currently injured, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Washington holds off until he gets back and peddles him along with Bondra for the best possible deal. Rumored deal for Gonchar alone was Berg and Antropov. Add the a prospect like Bell, Hedin, Kondratiev or Harrison, plus a 3rd pick and it would be able to compete with many other teams around the league for their services.
