Guys like Dubinsky and Korpikoski have a great upside; they both ooze raw talent. Immonen looks like a player who , because he was a late round draft pick, was able to be left in Europe without the scrutiny of being a high draft pick. He molded his game to the point that he deserved a look in NA, but, nothing about his game says great upside to me.

I agree with you Jas, I just don't understand what upside people see with Girardi. He's been nice in the AHL, but he has no tools that scream top pairing defenseman. I think he's a solid #4 defenseman in the near future. Immo is a solid 3rd C, possible 2nd C RIGHT NOW. He may not have much growth left, but I just don't see a whole lot with Girardi to get excited about (unless a solid #4 D-man excites anyone).
And I'm not trying to antagonize anyone who voted for Girardi, but I'd bet money that had this poll been taken 2 weeks ago Girardi would have about 3 votes. Being named and AHL All-Star and then being promoted to the show are certainly noteworthy accomplishments, but they don't make him a batter prospect than he was a month ago- which is a guy that if he develops right should be a decent second-pairing guy.
