Actually this non-NYR fan comes to this board because the hockey knowledge level and sense of humor of NYers is tops. (Former Manhattanite here. :p )

Am I mistaken or was Alexei Kovalev not put on the ice in the final minute last night? Telling, in a lot of ways.


I consider #88 NYR's best ticket to a playoff spot, and he may be back sooner than later. However, his injury does not guarantee NYR falling apart. For example, NYI has managed to stay afloat and then some since losing Yashin, Peca and Parrish. If Sather has assembled a very talented team, as a few NYR faithful still contest, they should not collapse due to this injury, even though it's to a very important player. If they continue to slide with this and the other injuries to the backline, blame it on a lack of roster cohesiveness/stability. (Changes faces every week.)
