Here's an idea if Edmonton looks to be out of contention at the trading deadline.




Now, let me explain.....

1) The majority of Salo's $3.9 million dollars will be paid. The Sens would then hold a team option on Salo for next year at the same dollars.

2) Gives Ottawa a decent insurance policy in goal in case Lalime falters in the playoffs.

3) Makes room for Emery next year if Salo's option isn't picked up.

4) Gives Edmonton an affordable goalie who has looked capable of starting in this league.

I think that it is a reasonable price for the Sens to pay to provide some insurance for their playoff drive. And they don't really give up much future in goal, as they might be looking to make room for Emery next year anyways.
