Obviously a few injuries in the NHL distort the picture somewhat, but there doesn't seem to be a reason to care about what happens in the KHL. No one thinks Canada should even consider taking players who are having KHL success. Russia may go far, but the NHL stars will have to do the heavy lifting.
Russia didn't pick KHL guys for scoring roles outside of Kovalchuk and Radulov who are first line NHL talent. Most of the KHL guys they brought are there to be 2-way grinders.
