If a new cost structure is in place at say 35 million. The Preds could afford a Lidstrom or Kariya. At 35 million, top players will make roughly 70% of what they make now. Taking into account the average big spender (teams with players who make 7+ mil) are generally spending an average of 50 mil per team, that's how I came up with the number. Players like Lidstrom will probably (when the smoke clears) be able to make around 6-8 million max. Second tier superstars like Kariya would be making closer to 5 million. That would be right up our alley. The market will be inundated with talent. It will truly be a buyers market. We can take advantage of this.

My biggest fear is that this will ruin all our chemistry. We are a hardworking team but invariably it seems that the more talent you have, the less effort you give. I hope we don't become that way.
