I havent watched Armstrong more than once or twice a year since he left the Ranger organization so my last impression of him is as a great AHL scorer, NHL not so much so I think I'd stay away.
For that matter, Armstrong wasn't an NYR draft pick either. He was acually drafted by the Islanders
