He just about single-handedly smoked the Flyers that one year in the playoffs. That must've made the Philly fans' boos that much more satisfying for him.
Bobby Clarke kept trying to build an entire team of power forwards (Lindros, LeClair, Primeau, Gratton & tried to turn Zubrus into one too). He's gotten around to adding skill (Recchi, Gagne & Kapanen) and finally has some depth on defense. The problem is that they don't have goaltending, which can compete with New Jersey in the East. They will again have an early spring.
Getting back to Gratton...get him a coach, who can motivate him. He's often the biggest guy on the ice. Park him in front of the net, because he's awfully difficult to move. That way, he can bang in plenty of rebounds. He needs to be used the right way.
