At some point, Bettman is going to have to prove his worth with something besides a salary cap. That cannot be the sole accomplishment in his 14 years as commisioner. Sometimes he seems as pigheaded as Renney. He knows that something is not working. But he is so incredulous to the fact that it is not working according to his plan, that he does not know what to do next. At least it seems like he is done expanding.
