It just goes to show you what an utterly inept coach Sather is. Special teams are a direct function of coaching, and the fact that the Rangers can't score on the powerplay with the personnel they have is a direct reflection of that. (Their inability to kill penalties goes more to Sather's ineptitude as a GM, you can't put together an effective PK unit of soft, finesse, one-dimensional offensive players who are afraid of getting their uniforms dirty).

To really get a feel for how truly bad of a coach Sather is, compare the current Rangers to the '98-99 Rangers. That was Muckler's last full season coaching the team. Yet, Muckler, who we thought at the time was possibly the worst NHL coach ever to come down the pike, managed to get more out of that team than Sather will get out of this bunch.
