I know Pearson was drafted 200+ overall in the OHL draft and started in the OHL at 18 which is old. He was undrafted for 2 NHL drafts and worked his way up to being drafted in the first round in his 3rd year when he was 21. He doesn't give up. He also played for team Canada WJC and was the captain or assistant captain. He's putting up points in AHL at the moment and could be a powerforward winger in the mood of Brenden Morrow. Pearson is listed as 6'0" 205lbs.
Clifford on the other hand is big 6'2" 210lbs. He's not going to put up 20 goals. He's a grinder and plays hard and crashes the net. He had two interference on Carey Price that lead to goals when we played with LA. Clifford is better suited for 3-4th line. Travis Moen like.
1st round pick is in the 15-25 range in a weak draft year
True but we can always use that pick, combine to move higher, trade it for a player at the draft it opens possibilities when you have picks like that
