night after night the guy puts in little to no effort, he's gonna get some criticism. We know what he's capable of, because every so often he shows it...but then he goes back to his lazy, turnover prone, play. And if I have to see the guy crawl his way over to the bench one more time for a line change, resulting in an odd man rush the other way
That's what it was like in his final years in Pittsburgh.
That is why many Pens Fans were glad to see him go.
Kovalev did the same thing in Pittsburgh, he is still doing it in Montreal.
These guys are explosive, very offensively talented, but frustrating for the reasons mentioned.
I'd rather have a roster full of hard working players giving 100% every minute.
