because that 50% cap hit would carry over into future years of the players contract that is why you won't see many guys in this situation recalled. the teams will leave them in the minors for the rest of the year to avoid re-entry waivers and then next season he's back on the big roster without them.
After the season a player can be recalled with no penalty?
