I care. A building with a good, and especially consistent name becomes part of the culture and an easily identifiable landmark. It brings consistency and respect.

When you think of Madison Square Gardens or Joe Louis Arena you instantly know the city where those buildings are located, and what they represent.

Someone not from the three cities in Canada bearing the Rogers Moniker on their buildings aren't going to know the difference between Rogers Place, Rogers Centre, and Rogers Arena.

Look at how the Canucks get jabbed for changing their logos and colours repeatedly through their history. It's a bit of the same thing.

If you don't care what the building is called, then why care what anything else is called? Might as well change the Team name to the Edmonton Rogers, and they can replace the Oilers logo with a big Rogers brand. What difference does it make?
