I think it's still a waste. You are going to waste a pick and then a bunch of years developing a guy that you can sign on September 1st for league minimum.

Just a waste IMO. Those first two rounds I rather go after guys that project to be top 6 forwards or top 4 d-men, and if they turn out to be bottom 6 forwards or bottom pairing d-men or busts so be it.

This club has had very little trouble adding those bottom 6 players or #4-6 d-men via free agency so I'm not too concerned about adding those type of players through the draft. On the flip side we have a lot of problems signing top 6 and top 3 d-men, so lets try draft and develop those ones.
