I have seen Hainsey play a bunch of times over the last few years, mostly in the AHL, either on the tube or attending games and I am not sold on him as much as everyone else. Yes, he has skills but I don't see the progression in his game that I would like to see and he still makes some really bad decisions. I still hope he makes the jump soon but I am becoming more skeptical. Personally, I think he may the ideal prospect to move in a deal.

An FYI, in the summer of 2000, just a few months after the draft I was flying back to Toronto from Eastern Canada and sat beside a current NHL GM, which was a blast as we chatted hockey the whole flight. We discussed the Habs drafting Hainsey and this GM did not give a glowing review of Hainsey, specifically his hockey sense, attitude & questioned his work ethic.

I hope I am wrong but this is what I see
