when you compare last season (50+ goals) to this season, there's little comparison. As I see it, there are a couple differences in his play and numbers from last season to this season. One, Straka is converting more, so on an apples to apples basis, he's not really 'assisting' more. Two, his goals are way down. If he was on pace to meet last year's total in the middle (somewhere around 40 goals), this team would be easily in a playoff position. Hopefully he picks it up down the stretch. He seems to be all over the place and all over the puck in the offensive zone, but just can't finish for some reason - even though he's getting off good shots and having good looks at the net.

EDIT: I'd guess that in the seasons he didn't have 100 points he was hurt and didn't play 82 games, or he was in Washington.
