And I agree, should be going American/Swede for years since our core is exactly that and has been for awhile. Should have had that mentality when passing on Carlson for Del Z. Or in 2010 whena few good American players were on the board.
Is Carlson an impact player? He's a very good player. Sometimes teams do get lucky with a pick in the mid to late teens/early twenties becoming a top player. The other guy was saying the Rangers lack top end talent because they keep drafting Yanks. Its hard to get a top player who is an impact player outside of the top picks in the draft and the Rangers are never bad enough. Sometimes teams do get lucky. McDonagh(12th) and Shattenkirk(14th)in 2007 have become impact players. Both of them are better than Carlson.
