Question: if Jagr is traded, do the Rangers then have to pick up Washington's half and take a nearly $5MM cap hit on a player who's not playing on the team?
I don't see why that would be the case. It's not a cap hit to the Caps, that portion of the contract shouldn't be a cap hit to the Rangers either.
