Buffalo's defensive depth is so thin they can't even consider dealing any of their better dmen unless they're getting a top 4 right-sided dman back. Zhitnik is unlikely to be back, Patrick will probably retire, Delmore certainly won't be qualified, and Campbell/Fitzpatrick are third pair types. They have zero depth in the minors. There's not even a player close to being more than a 6-7th NHL dman. Kalinin, McKee and Tallinder look to be the backbone of the Sabres D next season, and it won't be a very good one at that unless they pick up a vet or two. On the other hand they are loaded with young forwards. When making proposals try to look at the other teams strengths and needs.
