The consistency, in theory, would come from experience.
Unfortunately for him, goalies with chronic hip problems won't make it very far. Still, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see him resurface with a few good AHL seasons down the line.
Definitely true to some extend, however it's a little different for goalies. More than any other position consistency is what separate goalies in tiers. A lot of goalies have an arsenal of amazing physical skills but not all are able not to lose concentration and stay consistent no matter what.
