There's never a bench mark made. Case in point Sydor and a fourth for Svitov and a third and now you have Weinrich for future considerations, which are reportedly a 5th round pick. There's no bench mark, as the trade of Weinrich just dropped the bottom out of the value of a defenseman. I mean Simpson for Schastlivy? I realize Schastlivy hasn't panned out in Ottawa, but he was worth more than Simpson. There's no consistency with trades, especially when the financial aspect is brought in. Thus there's no bench mark.
