I expect to see franchises to start spending more money on off ice things such as Management, Coaching and specialists, sort of like a Dallas Mavericks approach. This would include their AHL teams. And if a coach like Noel is best suited coaching AHL calibre players and is okay at that level, will the day come where teams will be paying their AHL coaches the same rate as NHL coaches are getting.

I would think the NHL has a policy in place limiting one AHL team per NHL team or the number of players you can have under contract, but it would be interesting to see an NHL team have two or even three AHL teams to feed their NHL club. Teams like Toronto, Detroit, NY Rangers who were spending max dollars before the cap could just spend like crazy off the ice.
