Hollweg target of player backlash

While no one is condoning the slash to the throat of Ryan Hollweg that earned the Islanders' Chris Simon a 25-game suspension, Simon's ex-teammates in Calgary also have been quick to point out that Hollweg, whose hit from behind into the boards led to Simon's retaliation, is hardly blameless in the affair.

"They have free reign to do whatever," Flames enforcer Eric Godard said of Hollweg and other pests such as the Rangers' Sean Avery. "No respect. They're just trying to hit guys as hard as they can and hurt them."

Ex-Panther Rhett Warrener blamed the media for repeatedly playing the clip, often without showing Hollweg's hit that preceded it.

"It that any worse than (Tennessee Titans tackle Albert Haynesworth) stepping on (Dallas center Andre Gurode's) face with his cleats?" Warrener asked.
Ahh yes, that world famous hockey player, Eric Goddard! That's it, it is official now!
Explain how if Hollweg hit him from behind, Simon's numbers are clearly visable and if he was hit from behind how did simon get propelled upwards?
The hit was from the side, simon jumped into the glass in an effort to exaggerate the hit in an attempt to draw a penalty. He did such a poor job of diving that the moron injured himself. Any concussion he got was from his stupid jumping in to the glass on his own.

Go to the Hockey Rodent's website he has an excellent rant titled ask Dr Nolan! It is an instant classic!
