The Rangers with their high revenue cannot afford to go into a long-term rebuilding program. Even if it accounts for a small percentage of lost interest. The dollars lost will be collasal.

The Rangers are better off retooling than rebuilding. By moving players like Kovalev, Malakov, etc.... they can add to the farm system. Take the available finances and add a couple of key players.

Bondra may not be the answer but a player like Rolston or Alfredsson would be a great addition.

By adding the depth to the farm system they may also be able to throw big money to Joe Thornton. It will cost a few future first rounders but by adding prospects now they can afford it.
