All Shero did was figure out how to make a trade for Marian Hossa, keep the throw in, and some how still make it worth it. Probably a testament to the team he got them from, given they since relocated.

He made one good trade for James Neal and Niskanen for Goligoski, but it never helped Crosby much. Niskanen is probably gone, and there's rumors about Neal, so...

And he fired the coach.

Oh and he drafted Jordan Staal the year after the Penguins were bad one last time. Instead of Jonathan Toews.

The fact that the Penguins haven't been able to win a Cup, or even so much as return to the finals...hell not even win a conference finals game since then, with Crosby and Malkin their prime, is spectacularly awful. You can throw out the year they both got hurt, but that's only one out of five seasons.
