Step 2 is to find out who will pay the most for Staal. Winnepeg? Edmonton? Carolina? SJ? Find a very good, young power forward. LW or center. We'll assume for this that it is Evander Kane.
I think having Klein lets the set a number on Stralman and stick to that number.
